Record Store Day 2012

The official shopping list for Record Store Day, the bi-annual day where limited edition releases become available to independent record stores, has been published, and collectors’ wallets across America are about to become lighter. The 2012 list seems to be a little lighter than in previous years, but still retains some goodies. Unlike shopping season’s past, the list of 45’s seems to have some of the more exciting releases. A deluxe version of the Black Keys’ El Camino, Jimmy Fallon’s 7” single for “Tebowie,” Garbage’s “Blood for Poppies” single,” and Gary Clark Jr.’s Presents Hwul Raw Cuts Vol. 1 are likely to fly off the shelves rather quickly. Other releases from Metallica, Florence + the Machine, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, and The Clash are also likely to sell well.
