The Heavy Return With The Glorious Dead And “What Makes A Good Man”

On August 21, the U.K. neo-soul/rock band The Heavy will return with their heavily-anticipated third studio album, The Glorious Dead. The band, whose stature was raised with the success of their 2009 smash record, The House That Dirt Built and the single, “How You Like Me Now?,” has since seen their songs placed in a wide range of media, most prominently in the film The Fighter and the MLB Network.
In April, The Heavy released the first single from their new ten-track album,“What Makes A Good Man.” The song marks the return of the band’s signature blend of soul and garage rock, a style that has evolved across the group’s two records. Backed by the underrated rhythm section of Spencer Page and Chris Ellul, as well as the stoic, yet talented guitar player Dan Taylor, singer Kevin Swaby pours his heart into the track that is sure to continue the group’s steady rise.
