Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong was hospitalized last night before a show in Bologna, Italy. Neither the band nor his representation have formally announced the reason for Armstrong’s hospitalization but released a video on their website telling fans how devastated they were with the news. The band also promised their Italian fans that they would make amends for the cancellation during next year’s tour. The good news is that one can draw from the video that Armstrong should be in good shape, as the band was already looking towards the future.
The 40-year-old Armstrong was touring with Green Day as they were traveling Europe ahead of the release of a triumvirate of albums earlier this month.

Several reports indicated that Armstrong was released from the hospital on Monday. While his ailment was not confirmed, it was alleged that he suffered from a gastric condition. TMZ reported that the singer had lost his voice. Either way, it is great to hear that the voice of Green Day is alive and kicking.
