Beatles Remasters To Be Made Available In Vinyl
Long After Dark has often wondered why The Beatles had yet to be make their catalog available as reissued vinyl. If any group has warranted having their catalog re-explored through vinyl, it should be the Fab Four.
Today the ponderment ends as the band’s Apple Records label announced that all of The Beatles’ 12 studio albums, Magical Mystery Tour, and Past Masters Volume One & Two will be made available in 180-gram vinyl on November 13. There will also be 50,000 deluxe edition sets with all the trimmings of a new book by Kevin Howlett and rare photographs of John, Paul, George, and Ringo. Previously, only Abbey Road had been available as a reissued vinyl (not 180 gram).
Clearly, The Beatles have created a must-have Christmas gift that will be a welcome sight to retailers in the fourth quarter. The Beatles now join Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones as British bands with mega releases due in the closing stages of 2012. Your move, Pete Townshend?
