New Fitz and the Tantrums Album Due For 2013

Over the last two years, the neo-soul act Fitz & The Tantrums have primarily toured on the amazing power of their debut LP, Pickin’ Up The Pieces. A long-awaited sophomore record and their major label debut was due to drop on October 9th, although it seems to have mysteriously disappeared without much formal adieu. A glance at various message boards and forums indicates that Long After Dark is not the only curious mingler of the interwebs who is wondering when the new Fitz & The Tantrums album is coming out.
It took some deep digging into the comments tab of their facebook page, but it appears as if Fitz & The Tantrums have pushed their second full-length album back to early months of 2013. It was not clear if FATT had not deemed their album worthy or if this was another instance of major label shenanigans. Until then, Long After Dark leaves you with this new work from Fitz & Co., with a new track that has been leaked onto the internet:

Long After Dark Correction: As can be read in the comments section below, it has been pointed out by Fitz and the Tantrums’ Noelle Scaggs that the LAD had erroneously written that “Spark” was a leaked track. It is, in fact, a part of the FIFA 2013 video game soundtrack.

Ms. Scaggs also did confirm that the band’s record will not be released until next year.

It is not a leak, It is a track that was licensed for the FIFA 13 video game. You do have it correct that the record release date has been pushed back to 2013, we are putting some final touches on the album as well as getting a well deserved break after 2 years of touring. We wanted to make sure that we will be fresh for the coming year, and didn't want to rush our sophomore release. Definitely appreciate the support and we will keep everyone posted on our happenings soon! xoxo Noelle of Fitz And The Tantrums

Thank you for taking the time to clarify, Ms. Scaggs. It seemed to be a bit unclear as everything had seemed to point towards the album coming out as scheduled and I think a lot of people seem to be confused. Also, thank you for noting the FIFA mistake, I will amend that shortly. Good luck with the finishing touches and break, definitely a well-earned respite after killing it on the road for two years.
