About Long After Dark
In October of 2011, I started Long After Dark as a way to help me get through a period of stir-crazy unemployment that hit last fall. Since then, the site has grown in ways I could not have imagined last fall. Occasionally of Main Street Music in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, a current resident of Narberth, and a 2008 graduate of Saint Joseph’s University, I consider myself a late-comer to the music scene who obsesses over Tom Petty and the Foo Fighters (you have been warned) as well as U2, Hall & Oates, Florence + the Machine, the Black Keys, Bruce Springsteen, The Frames, Paul McCartney, TSOP, The Joy Formidable, Stax, Garbage, and Motown (and on, and on, and on.) I have a tendency to sort through what I love from what does not necessarily strike a chord, with the best making it on to these pages as I look for the most exciting music that’s ruminating today.
Beginning in August of 2011, Long After Dark has started what will be a focus on the Philadelphia music scene. There is a lot of exiting music out there waiting to be unearthed and the City of Brotherly Love hosts as vibrant a music culture as you will find.
